Franz Lang have successfully created petroleum eating mushrooms.

This began by planting willow plants in the spring into the contaminated soil. All the contaminants that reduce the soil quality will be absorbed by the plants and by the end of spring, these plants are burnt. After 2-3 cycles, the area will be fresh and clear void of any contaminants.

The area for this kind of research was provided by an oil company in Montreal. This area was very badly contaminated that nothing grew here. This land proved to be the perfect spot for Hijri to collect microorganisms that could ingest fuels.

Following these findings a project has been launched, named as Improving Bioremediation of Polluted Soils Through Environmental Genomics. This project has been based on the simple process of phytoremediation where plant matter is used for decontamination. With reference to the earlier researches conducted in this area, the team came to a conclusion that in phytoremediation it is not the plant that carried out the decontamination, but the combination of bacteria and mushrooms that processed the removal of contaminants. By finding the best plant-mushroom combination through this project, the team aims to create the best method of decontaminating even the worse areas of land.

In -Vitro Meat: From the Lab to the Home

Imagine eating away tasty meat which is not produced from livestock, but in the lab.

This was a dream, long realized by Winston Churchill and now Scientist Mark Post is trying to make this vision a reality. Each of our body part has several roles to play. The sense organs are our sense, but they play many other roles in the proper functioning of the body without even we knowing. The ear for example, helps you to hear noises, but it also maintains the air circulation and pressure balance of the body. The vestibules and semicircular canals of the ear maintain the balance and positioning of your body. There are many other such purposes served by each body part.

The skin plays dual role. The first thought that comes to our mind when we think about the role of Skin is - to protect our body. Imagine if you had no skin in your body.. Eekks. .. I would be scary wouldn’t it. all the germs and dirt from the surrounding would have easily entered into your body. But there are also other protective functions played by the skin. The skin has a hydrolipid film which neutralizes substances on its surfaces and prevents it from attacking us. It also protects the body from sun’s radiation. The skin secretes sweat, sebum etc whereby drugs and other harmful substances are eliminated from the body.

It is very esential to know the various body functions played by each body part. One has to take proper care of ones body to keep ourself healthy. There are medicines for each and every disease but the increasing health care costs are becoming a major concern. better Prevention than a costly Cure.

Cells Contain RNA as well as DNA

In the nineteenth century it had been discovered that cells have a second kind of nucleic acid - what we now call ribonucleic acid (RNA). Unlike DNA, which is located primarily in the nucleus, RNA is found in abundance in the cytoplasm as well as in the nucleus. Within the nucleus, RNA is concentrated in few dense granules (nucleoli) that are attached to chromosomes.

Both DNA and RNA resemble proteins in that they are constructed from many smaller building blocks linked end to end. However, nucleotides, the building blocks of nucleic acid, are more complex than any amino acid. Each nucleotide contains a phosphate group, a sugar moiety and either a purine or pyrimidine base. When nucleotides are linked together in large numbers, they are called polynucleotides.

Early on, the sugar component of RNA was known to be different from that DNA. Yet it was not until the 1920's that the work of Phoebus Levine of the Rockefeller Institute revealed that the sugar of DNA is deoxy ribose while the sugar in RNA is ribose. Two purines and two pyrimidines are found in both DNA and RNA. The two purines, adenine and guanine is used in both DNA and RNA; the pyrimidine cytosine is like wise found in DNA and RNA. However, the pyrimidine thymine is found only in DNA, while the structurally similar pyrimidine - Uracil appears in RNA.

In both DNA and RNA, the nucleotides are linked together to form very long poly nucleotide chains. The linkage consists of chemical bonds running from the phosphate group of one nucleotide to the deoxyribose (or ribose) group of the adjacent nucleotide. Each deoxyribose (ribose) residue contains several atoms to which phosphate groups might attach, and there was initially much difficulty in identifying the exact atoms that are bridged by the phosphate group.

Another question that went unanswered for a long time was how the four different ribonucleotides are ordered along a DNA (or RNA) molecule. No methods existed for even estimating the exact amounts of the four nucleotides within the DNA or RNA ; as late as the 1940s, the possibility could not be dismissed that DNA and RNA had regular repeating structures in which each base was repeated every four nucleotides along the poly nucleotide chain. More interesting, however, was the alternative possibility, that there were a very large number of different DNA and RNA molecules, each with its own specific irregular sequence of bases. If this were the way these molecules were constructed, DNA and RNA could have encoded in their varying base sequences the massive amount of information needed to specify the order of the very large number of amino acid sequences found in the proteins of the living world

How the herpes Simplex Virus Uses MicroRNA to Hide Out in Cells

Researchers at the University of Pennysylvanis School of Medicine have discovered part of the reason why cold sores, caused by a herpes virus, come back again and again. The study points to a small RNA molecule, called a microRNA (miRNA) as the culprit that keeps the virus-infected cell alive. These findings could one day lead to a new way to fight the virus and offers the first target for intervention in the latent infection.

It was found that the herpes simples virus 1 produces the miRNA molecule. The tension lies in the risk factors affecting pregnancies these days. Risky pregnancies are a lot prevalent today. Pregnancy specialists have put down a lot of hard work to create a baby and mother foetal monitor. This monitor records baby and mother heart beats as different signals. The device works at a strech for 24 hours. It is portable and is worn around the mother's stomach which has 5 electodes attached around the mother's stomach. The data is stored in an USB. The device is a mobile phone sized one.

Usually an ultrasound monitor is used to check baby foetal heart rate. But this not a very reliable one, especially for high risk pregnancies. The device does not monitor the uterus, baby position or movements. It keeps track of baby activities round the clock.

Magnets World

Magnets are used for a wide range of purposes. Therapeutic cloning was a major break through in the field of biotechnology.

He proclaimed to have abandoned the technique after a rival method was discovered in Japan. Prof Shinya Yamanka of Kyoto University suggested a new way to create human embryo cells from skin tissues. This process does not require human eggs. This will be socially accepted as it does not require creating and destroying cloned embryos.

Ian Wilmut has been inspired by this technique and has proclaimed that he wont pursue his license to clone human embryo cells. Dinosaurs had many similarities to birds and this similarity has been found to be present in the respiratory system as air sac respiratory system.

Studies were conducted on the fossil remains of Maniraptoran dinosaurs and Achaeopteryx. The study was conducted in mice and human cell cultures.

This has spread advices to the public to consume complex carbohydrates and to reduce sugar consumption.

Glucose and fructose metabolism takes place in the liver and the excess sugar is converted to lipid. It has been discovered that excess lipid production shut down a gene called SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin). This gene plays a major role in controlling the release of testosterone and estrogen. Less of SHBG protein, consecutively the testosterone and estrogen release will also decrease. This leads to increased risk of acne, infertility, polycystic ovaries and uterine cancer.

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131956238017554546" style="DISPLAY: block; This also has been made much easier by online websites which provide extensive review of the various products available in the market now. The reviews are mostly provided by people who have used the product. But you have to make sure that the reviews are genuine, so it is advised to rely on the reviews in genuine sites.

Trustsource.org is one such site which provides genuine reviews of products. The site evaluates the reviews and checks if it is genuine. The results are published after a long round of processing and the products are ranked after that according to the genuine reviews provided by the customers.

The site has a hair loss products review, and the visitors have ranked Provillus to be the best hair loss cure.
